Hey all,
Been reading and lurking for quite a while and thought I would introduce myself. I am in my early 40's, wife just turned 40. I have been a pastor for 20 years, have not financial security, insurance, retirement, etc... All my kids are now grown and in college, two are getting married next year, the other two still in college. We are about to be empty nesters. Just like many people I have read, we like to travel, enjoy one another's company, and would like to make some money, have benefits, and be able to work together. Those are some of the reasons we are looking to team drive, would like to train together. My wife would not drive with a trainer without me. That being the case, we would be looking for a company that does team training together, or it might be a possibility for me to work for a year to become a trainer and for me to train her. Anyway, we don't have any definite dates set, but will continue to lurk, ask questions, and try to get on with the best company that we can, possibly in hopes of becoming O/O. Any help and advice is surely appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott & Lacy
Hopefully new husband wife team....hello!

Are you going to a private CDL school or a trucking company CDL school.
If you go to a private CDL school, there are many companies that will hire you and your wife together as a team;such as Melton Truck Lines, Benny Whitehead Trucking,trans-system, and many others.
If you want a trucking company sponsored school, then look at Central Refrigerated for husband/wife training. -

Chinatown, from the looks of it we will probably go to our local tech school and get our CDL. It really depends on the situation. It wouldn't be too bad financially to get our licenses here, and not be tied down to any one company. That seems to be the way to go from what I've read. Really wanting to do my due diligence on this before we take the plunge.
