Howdy Y'all ~ I would appreciate it if anyone can give me the scoop on what the 5-week training consists of for NEW drivers. I have narrowed my choices down to either Melton, TMC, or a local OTR company. The TMC answers I received were pretty concise and I'd like to be able to make a reasoned and informed decision given my brand new, shiny CDL! :)

its a relatively new program , I am not sure that many guys have done it at melton , I have met a few guys on the program and had dinner at truck stops with them but not having done it I really can't answer your questions. I would be surprised if any of the few guys that have done it are on here and will see your post.
I am sure you already talked to a recruiter and were told the program basics and stuff.

MysticTrucker, so who have you decided to drive for? If you have chosen Melton let me know how it has gone for you? Thanks a bunch. I have received a pre-hire letter from TMC and have so far decided on them till now. I have never looked at Melton but since today and considering it very much. I think I will do my app to see what they tell me.

Hawk...I am not going with either company actually. Going to Halvor Lines, a local company. I had dinner and talked to a while with Azcannon who drives for Melton and after that conversation decided for Melton. They are still #2 for me. The APU did it for me PLUS top notch equipment. New T660s.

    Melton is the best choice.

No I never heard of them. I have had my CDL since 1986, and drove for several companies way back then. Decided to own a lawn and landscape business for 17 years. Back to my love of trucking.
