We have some tanks that do not have a full frame so it saves on weight

The Polar tanks (the white ones) only have a partial frame, (part is attached to the upper fifth wheel plate and the other part is attached to the suspension for the tandems). I know my truck with full tanks and hooked to a Polar tank can scale 50025lbs of product according to the scale in Southern Gardens. And our trailers are 48' long.

I always wondered why some of the tanks were white... at first i thought it was just an older tank that hadnt been polished in forever

with IRT's DOT score not being the greatest right now do you guys find yourselves getting called into scales more often now? how often are you inspected or log books checked? also how is the idling policy at irt? dont think ive seen irt with an apu so curious on that one

I don't have a prepass in my truck, so i ALWAYS have to sit on the static scale when ever i'm in florida. I've never been bypass'd once. Empty, loaded, bobtail, i always have to go into the scale, and sit on it. Never been called in for my paperwork though. But since i run the north east, i hardly ever see an open scale. Even in Canada i roll across their scale and watch the lights, once they check to make sure my brake lights work, i get the green to leave. A few drivers have been shut down in Canada for bad logs but they've never had me park so they can check my paperwork.

well thats surprisingly good to hear. i guess the bad score really piles up for stupid things like a log violation or speeding tickets and things like that. and of course i dont mind being called in if i have everything in order but i also just dont like giving DOT any reason to look at me either

i'll elaborate even more after this years safety blitz. i've personally never been apart of one, which probably has something to do with the fact i do most if not all of my driving in the dark.
