Hey guys, quick 10 questions here. I did do some research before posting, but some information are kind of out-dated from a few years ago. I was wondering if some of you guys can post up some recent 2013 updates for me. I am especially interested to know about the Utah CDL training location.

    1. How are the hotel rooms? How many people do you room with? Are the beds next to eachother?
    2. How is the scenery and the community there?
    3. How do you guys get food? Are there stores in walk-able distances from the hotel?
    4. What are the class hours?
    5. How long until you test for your CDL-Permit?
    6. How long until you test for the actual CDL license?
    7. How many weeks or months are you with a trainer?
    8. Do they send you back home to test for your CDL?
    9. If you are tested in Utah, what would your address on your CDL say?
    10. Are there any other out-of-pocket money charges to consider? What about the security deposit, load locks, and security locks?

Thank you for answering my quick 10s.

I am starting my Training with Central on the 27th of May. I might be able to answer some of these questions however i encourage any other more experanced drivers to please answer as i'm sure you will have more info.

    1. The hotel rooms are going to be basic and your going to be rooming with someone, basic place to sleep from what others than i know whom have gone to Central.
    2. I really have no idea of the scenery but from what i've been told the community is very friendly and helpfull
    3. There are restraunts and a wal-mart very close to the Terminal.
    4. i believe your day starts between 6:30 and 7 and class time ends about 4. For Drive time i'm not sure.
    5. You will test for your CDL permit the end of your first or start of your second week.
    6. You will test for your CDL License once you return from your on the road training with a trainer.
    7. You will be with a trainer for atleast 200 drive hours/ 30 days/ or 17,000 miles.
    8. No, you ill test in Utah.
    9. For the moment it will be the termnal address, you will need to transfer the CDL to your home state once you get back home.
    10. Your trainer will better go over that with you, however you will need 60 dollars for your license and money to feed yourself while you are there. i plan to take give or take 400 with me.

Many of these questions can be answered by a recruiter at central. Keep in mind a recruiter is a recruiter and are going to say what they need too to get you signed up. But if you have already decided on Central then just talk to your recruiter.

Hope this helps and hope to see ya on the road!

    Lady K Thanks this.

you get your cdl first then you go out with a trainer just for FYI. i didnt get my cdl from central but i know they dont go out with a trainer with a CDL permit. and the hotel in utah is real nice. the rooms in utah though at the facility arent good. it was a old jail cell and they bought it out. the conley terminal is good rooms well at least much better and the motel i didnt like much.

ya you do a cdl road test for upgrading......not to get your cdl..... you go to school for like 3 weeks.....then 30 days OTR with a trainer. then you come back take a written test, road test, and a backing test. Pass it and you upgrade

No. Cdl permits do not transfer from state to state so you would have to get a new one in Utah.
