    No big deal. IDC is offering some of the things that are more important to me anyway. Not to mention a shorter commute... I still firmly say that GTI is a good company. But each driver has different needs, and I feel my personal needs will be met better there.

    Some companies do that. I've worked for a couple that if you gave a 2 week notice, you were fired on the spot. They can always find a reason.

    It's better to get locked in with a new job before giving a notice to the old job. The few times I did it, I did it during vacation time.

    At will employment. Can be fired for anything or nothing (as long as it doesn't hit on discrimination laws). The other part is that I was upset at missing my HT for my anniversary and asked questions like "is that the best you can do to get me home" etc. Their lack of effort to get me home on time (with plenty of notice, btw) prompted me to start looking at other jobs. and unemployment wont kick in till the 2nd week by which time I'll be employed and driving. It just means I get a week vacation... lol

    i just gave my two weeks and that day they let me go.. i just open an unemployment claim.. dont kno if I will get it..but there were a few good reasons why i was leaving..someone was gossiping to other employees my medical info..ect.
