14 hour clock man. Doesn't effect the 70 though.

Message Cowpie as he gets around this all the time running E-logs. Supposedly it is easier to cheat on E-logs than on paper.

palm meet forehead...
once you hit 8 hours uninterrupted time in sleeper, that's when the magic happens...
Lepton1, Reroll, RockinChair and 1 other person Thank this. -
Log enough line 4 time to show that you did your check-in and picked up your bills. The rest of it can go on line 2... you've been in the sleeper. You do not have to show that you were in readiness to drive during that time.

Too bad I can't do that, I had to drive a mile away to used the restroom since there are none here for drivers

Using your time efficiently is not cheating, if that's what you mean. If there is a trick to get around the rules with any electronic log, it's not worth doing.
If you do anything illegal in your truck, and then are involved in any accident, you will be wide open for lawsuits, termination from your company, plus traffic citations. Add to that your CSA score problems, and I would say that only fools play games with logs these days. -
All of the elog systems have some sort of allowance for moving around before they put you on line 3. You just have to play around with it until you know how much you can do with your particular system. On mine... moving a mile wouldn't trigger the change to line 3.

Dahookup, you are in the sleeper, but the E-Log does not know how long you will be there, so your 14 hours rule keeps counting down. As soon as you reach 8 hours in the sleeper, the 14 hour rule will adjust itself. You are the one who has to be smart about things. If you are at a customer for 6 or 7 hours, then drive off, you lose all that time you were sitting there. If they finish you after 6 hours, it would do you better to just stay at that location till you have the full 8 hours in the bunk, then leave. Moving your truck across the parking lot to park will not effect your duty status.
Tricking the system, or cheating in any way on your logs is an act of stupidity, with the legal atmosphere of today's world. Just do your job legally, and keep yourself out of trouble. You can learn how to use your time effectively, but cheating is not the way to go.
I was involved is a major situation one time. Car came up behind me, and ran into me as I sat at a red light. The person had medical bills in the half-million dollar range. Since I was 100% legal, I had nothing to worry about. If I had been cheating , or falsifying my log at the time, I could have been fired, and held at fault, in a civil lawsuit, even though I was not moving at the time I was hit.Lepton1 and DoneYourWay Thank this.
