Okay I bit the bullet I'm getting it done, sendoff my ECM this morning I should have it back by Tuesday afternoon. I have a Volvo D12D about 720,000 miles on it and average for the month of May 6 .8.

I'm hoping that I will get high 7s and low 8s all the time, we'll see what happens I'll keep everybody apprised.

Good luck i hope you are not using Illinois dyno center becuase they screw me up with $1,899 and the truck is still the same on power and fuel if not worse

I sent it to Florida, They quoted me three different prices till I nail them down exactly what I wanted, (The best fuel economy and power combination ) I told him to make sure you make a backup copy of my file and hold it for 60 days because I don't see any improvement, I want to flash back to the original state.

Volvo had put some files on it, Something to do with the EGR valves, I believe something to do with the timing of the EGR valves. I never threw any codes in 450,000 miles.

    Hi all,

    Here's the update.

Since I have an Tenspeed autoshift first thing you Noticed as the torque, It pulls very very well in ninth and 10th gear. Pick up a load from Chicago headed south on I 65 to Louisville ky. Ran into an 15 to 45 mile an hour headwind. I had a 25,000 Load. The average fuel economy off my dish indicated 6.4 miles per gallon, Pick up another 25,000 pound load and headed back to Chicago, and slight tailwind the winds deftly have calmed down later in the evening, reset it the mile indicator off the dash- time I got to Chicago, the mile indicator read 8.2

I put in 204 gallons of fuel at my start, that's all Comdata let me 799.00,an Limited to $800 a day.

After running 635 miles round-trip I still have 5/8 of a tank, The dash indicates 160 gallons Until it indicates empty.

Today I have a 35,000 load and some hills this would be a good indication, I had a flash just for fuel economy and the horse power comes with it.

Also EGR valves are not cycling anymore, when I filled up with fuel, I can always tell when the EGR valves opened the exhaust tone changes to a higher pitch, it doesn't do it anymore.

Bottom line so far I'm very happy after about two tanks of fuel I will write another write up.

Sweet I got there Blixxton 200 and thought about sending them my ecu for the egr fixer. But I found out that Pittsburg power is working on the d12 now. So I may wait.

Some of those power boxes are really getting good on fuel economy Just as good as a flash, I saw the fuel tables there are hundreds and hundreds of them, the flash is the best way for the Volvo as of right now. There is no way to keep the EGR from cycling through a power box you physically have to go in maps Adjust all the tables for the EGR, But, if you have a power box that downloads maps that's a different story. The EPA will be all over that company if they change the EGR tables.

    Here is an update,

i have an Volvo VNL 780 with an I shift, 735,000 miles on the meter,

At first I thought the flash wasn't done, I really didnt notice anything until the RPM's went above 1500.

Once I got the RPM's above 1500, 9th and 10th gears. Unbelievable pulling power felt like a new engine.
The more I drove the truck the more I notice the difference especially in the lower gears, The turbo boost tend to come on earlier and stay up between shifts, Before it used to fall off.

As for fuel mileage the last two weeks it's been very windy in the Midwest everywhere I drove I felt like i was in an head wind or cross wind.

I would say I picked up An .7 to 1.1 in fuel economy,
I did make an run from Evansville Indiana to Chicago about 300 miles averaged 8.4 with a 28,000 pound load, Pulling a Intermodal box and chassis. Very slight tailwind

Yes, the flesh made a huge difference.

Two things I notice, the engine idols a lot smoother, also through the power band the engine feels a lot smoother than before.

How much did you pay for the flash?
