After a little research on google maps, im almost positive it was off red fish bay area. remember going over the bridge in corpus christi either the first or second exit from there. Wish I could remember more of it. After looking at the map of that area im just as confused of the location as I started LOL.
How about some 2013 "updated" info on texas oilfield jobs/outlook?

There's a lot better options than Halliburton if you already have a cdl but you will make money and you will get some experience. Just so you know the hourly pay for almost everyone but Halliburton is between 15-25 an hour. Some pay per diem some pay bonuses and some pay your week off. I've got lots of buddies who worked there and they were lucky to bring home 4500 a month while I averaged 6500 a month at a smaller company.

Watch out for per diem pay. I know you are young but per diem pay is not taxed and it does not count as income. So if you need to get a loan it doesn't count. If "God forbid" you have to go on unemployment the per diem pay does not count.
Also if you get per diem pay you can't take your $59 per day deduction on your taxes. That puts you in a much higher tax bracket. Per diem pay is good for them and bad for you. -
news to me. didnt even know about that.

You probably won't be able to deduct per diem on your taxes anyways cause you'll probably sleep in your own bed a lot and get fed all the time. For what we do per diem is great. And if your wanting to get into frac don't worry about benefits. Everybody has awesome benifits. My health insurance is cheaper than halliburtons. What you should be concerned with is hourly pay and consistent hours. When you interview ask about thier contract. If they don't have one run away. If they do have one ask about it.
