Even better than that....PYKL3 Radar app, available from The Play Store...best weather app available, after your educate yourself on how to interpret it...which is not that hard.

    http://www.pykl3radar.com/

A more basic and less expensive app is Radar Now...good, but not nearly as in depth as PYKL3.

I'm with you...I've never been scared of much of anything, even hurricanes...but after being pretty close (too @&$# close) to a few tornados, I decided I was gonna educate myself on the subject...because they scare the hell outta me!

I was just thinking about starting a thread on this very subject today...have had a headache all day though and didn't do it.

Holy crap, that is awesome! I'm almost sure that's the same app the professional storm chasers use. I've been a weather enthusiast (especially severe weather) all my life and learned how to read advanced radar like this years ago. I'm so getting that app.

Even though I love severe weather, I've never seen a tornado in person. Always wanted to, assuming it was moving away from wherever I happen to be lol. But I love that stuff... I would totally be the driver of the Dominator in a heartbeat, I'd do it for free! (Those of you who watch the show Storm Chasers will know what I'm talking about lol)

Im actually saving up for a big vacation, maybe next year. Reed Timmer (the guy who owns the Dominator) also does storm chase tours. They're like 3 weeks long and they get people pretty close to tornadoes (although not as close as Reed himself gets lol)

I am going on that vacation one day.

I waited for almost 5 hours this morning for my w/a. Finally got one to load at AK in Middletown, OH for N. Jackson, OH. Total miles only 389. Worst part is I can't unload it until the a.m., so I am starting this week off very poorly. 389 miles by Tuesday. I will probably have to go to Butler, PA for reload to Frankfort, IN., and I can't unliad it until Wednesday morning. This does not look like it is going to be a good week at all. :biggrin_25513: But on a positive note, I did have the opportunity to help a new Maverick today while at AK. He had never been there at AK and we were loading at the worst door in the place, 185A. He had no idea of the fast pace that you have to move at once the crane operator decides to get off his butt and start loading trucks. He was getting really flustered from what I could tell, so I basically helped him set up his cradles and secure them with 2 chains each so we could get out to tarp outside. It was HOT in there today anyways, so it was better to go outside. I got my coil done and went over and helped him with his tarp job. Turns out he has met Sarge before at NLR. I gave him the best route directions for getting out of there towards I-70 so he could get to Gary tonight. He seemed in a much better mood once we were leaving. So, I was happy to have helped out a new guy who was having a really bad day, and was contemplating going to do something else. Besides, I had PLENTY of time to get to N. Jackson this evening.

That is what I like about the drivers at Maverick. When another driver is having trouble and not wanting to ask for help (for whatever reason) you guys will just offer help and it makes a bad day go a whole lot better. A couple of people that I have talked with has said the same.

You should start that tradition over there at Prime! How's it going anyway? Everything you thought it would be? BTW, what happened to 'Ol Blue? If I was EVER going to go IC, I wouldn't mind that truck....

Ol blue is on the Maverick sales lot. I drove by today on my way to Springfield. After one helluva long orientation and monday kinda startin crappy (weather sunday delayed my arrival at my delivery hence my break wasnt up til 1pm) ive been rather busy with short runs. A few weeks and i'll have a good idea how it is. If for some reason it turns bad then I'll be back in a maroon truck :)
