C-15 Pyrometer

On an 01 6NZ does the pyrometer go through the ECM? I am having trouble with my pyro gauge slapping back and forth left and right. The reason for this question is, would it be giving false readings to the ECM? The tractor is a Western Star.

Ok, thanks man. I will just replace the probe next. I replaced the gauge already. It does go through the computer behind the speedo in the dash.
