I currently drive for Halvor lines. The rumors are correct, they are a nice company to work for. Pay is better than some, not as good as others, but when you factor in a generous performance bonus system, and safety bonus system, it's right up there. Equipment is top notch as far as fleets go. Dispatch keeps me as busy as I want to be. If I want to be home every weekend, they get me home. If I want to stay out, they keep me out. I average about 2800 to 2900 miles a week, and am home 4 of 5 weekends. I hardly ever have to wait for a backhaul. Though technically, company policy is forced dispatch, I've found that I always have multiple choices on outbound loads. We haul to all 49 and Canada.

Any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

There is the information that you need to have to answer your questions.

As of the previous rendition of their website. They required training from an accredited school, which they would tell you about (which ones they took students from) when called. They then sent students with a trainer for a period of time. I don't off the top of my head recall how long it was when I asked myself.

Soylent, are you pulling dry van or flatbed? Do they force NYC or NE or do you have a choice if you're a new driver? I'd be going to van if I went there. I'm considering this career and am looking for info. They don't have the pay listed on their website or any of the bonus information either. What's their hometime policy?

    Thanks
