A lil bout myself huh...
I am a 30yr old Hawaiian raised in Austin, Tx but got stuck in Lincoln, Ne. N I tell ya what, I hate bein cold. I was raised with respect.. which I believe kids now a days need to learn what that word means. Enough of that... I am indeed very very interested in drivin truck! And I have been taking my time to research & learn bout these companies & so far it seems like every single one has pros & cons. My issue is.. I am trying to find a good company to start with, possibly help me with the schooling part being I am broke n tired of being broke. I know I don't want to come out of school & have to lease a truck. I would like to get a few years under my belt before I even think about that. I would like to be able to take my dog with me. N yes I want to make a career of this. Any suggestions or questions.. let me know. Til then keepin faith this is going to be a great beginning.
Howdy or Aloha

Welcome to the forum,

Aloha! I've been hearing lots of bad stuff about lease programs as well so good idea about holding off. I want to beat up on the company truck for a while until I know how things work in the industry. Taking a dog is a good idea to keep company out there on the lonely road but also keep in mind that the dog may slow ya down because of daily care. If you're broke like you say then you could hold out on the dog until you get a few good paychecks rolling in. Good luck and God bless!

I'd hold off but unfortunately I have nobody here to take Purdy... providing for her is not da problem... coming up wit $1000 cash for da class here at SCC is my issue. She is a pit, n I'm sure you've heard da stories, n that pisses me off cuz I raised her wit love n dats all she knows, Purdy is a good girl. I am bouta go apply for this fed grant loan in my county but u know there is no promise of that. It sux cuz I have never been so sure of what I wanted to do.. well I do have hopes n dreams but I am being a realist.
What is a good company for a woman? So far I really like Xpress... n I thought Crete would be a good one but don't like what I am hearin. :/ -
You will hear bad things about all companies, doesn't mean it wouldn't be a good fit for you, I've heard good this about Crete, and a female driver from Xpress who was happy.
As for the dog, to me it don't matter have meet many awsome temperd pits, have seen many in trucks you should have no problems with that.

If you're broke, go to Prime Inc. or Central Refrigerated for company sponsored CDL training. Many women posted here they like Central Refrigerated.
