Don't assume someone did something wrong to be on the receiving end of BS on the CB! How about doing the speed limit in a construction zone, and some impatient SOB behind wants to pass you, or push you off the road!

The only time I talk to other drivers is when I walk past them and give them a courtesy nod or hello. Hell at every single truck stop I go to, I could be the only straight person there and I wouldn't even know it.

Truckers are like anybody else. So it won't be any different than what you exerience everyday. Most will be accepting and then of course some won't. But honestly I have never had a conversation in a truckstop yet where being gay ever came up.

However you will probably be in the drivers lounge one day and will come across "mr truck driver who has an opinion about everything" and will start spouting homophobic remarks..because some people are just ignorant that way. It still amazes me the occosional trucker who will make a racia comment to me since he automatically assumes we are on the same "team". Handle it how you would handle it in your every day life...you'll be fine

only thing i have to disagree with is the dog issue. once you get past training, take your pup. just make sure the company allows it. to each their own though.

Since I don't know any better, right now my only requirement is that I can take my dog with me after training. I have a list of companies the allow pets. I'm checking to see which ones have good recommendations and applying to those.
