just because a large amount of people come and go in a company . It does not necessarily make it a good or bad company

In my first four months with Roehl I've had two drivers with less than a year tell me they planned to stop OTR within a week or two. One found a local driving job and the other got a construction job and didn't like the travel. But the drivers here with more than a year or two seem to like it. There are many with over five years so not everyone is 'new'. So if you make it past a year (without doing something stupid) odds are you've found a career and that's when other career opportunities open up.

It's the federal government dude. Every year they pump in more and more money into the industry, while claiming falsely there's a driver shortage to justify it. If there truly were a driver shortage, wages would skyrocket. Instead, they have remained stagnant for years and in some cases even gone down.

Most move from Roehl after a year because of better paying opportunities or they just can't deal with the lifestyle. I went to Roehl's training school and stayed with them for 14 months. Overall I enjoyed my time there but when you can pick up another 8-10K/yr driving the same miles there is no reason to stay in my opinion. I moved on to Crete at .41 cents a mile and a year later I moved to another company paying .48 miles on the hub with virtually no BS to deal with and as many miles as you can handle. After you get that year in and don't mind the job then it is kind of foolish to not seek out a better paying position for the same amount of work.
