Yea I know. But the shipper produced the shipping papers, a standard BOL.
The driver got the load delivered and got the BOL signed. I have never had this problem with Mercer, TQL, or any other broker out there.

If there is a problem with signed BOL, why hold up the payment and not tell anyone about it, and do anything about it. And if there is a problem with the BOL that should be between the Shipper and the Receiver, the truck and the driver got it signed and delivered it.
I had to wait and call to see why the payment wasn't being processed after it should have be paid.

Thank you! You would think if the shipper produces the shipping papers and there is a problem with form of the paper, why hold up the payment for the trucking company? They did there job. Landstar should provide a BOL if they don't like the shipping papers format before the shippment takes place. Don't wait til the shippment is delivered and when the papers are submitted and say, Oh we don't like this format of so were not going to pay the trucking company.

Landstar should call the receiver and say something like, we had a shippment delivered and we need a BOL signed because the shipping papers that was signed isn't what we requier for delivery, can I fax that over and you sign it?

Reading the thread I find it hard to understand how 1 unpaid shipment can cripple a person's cash flow and ability to operate. I too have noticed that a higher and higher percentage of LS loads are double brokered and cheaper than anyone else offering the same load. I haven't pulled a LS load in over 6 months. Thanks to all for clarifying what LS requires for payment. I guess I've been lucky up until now.

Biggest problems i've had with landstar is agents not closing out loads so I could get paid and
the worst offender is the loads double brokered and the agent rushes to get his money not getting all needed information.
Like the real size, weight and if ity needs to dock height trailer. Then they don't want to pay a tomu and it's their fault.
Whenever there was a paperwork problem the office people would call me and it would be fixed quickly except once.

And I'm not trying to be either. Over a million loads get moved a year, and that's not intermodal or air freight, ocean, warehousing or anything else our agents handle. There's only so many people working at JAX, and if they took the time to call every single driver about everything they wouldn't be able to get anything else accomplished. THAT said, I'm not saying you weren't entitled to a phone call and perhaps someone dropped the ball. You do have to understand though that those people are extremely busy and have to make sure everything is right. Perhaps they did make an attempt to call and it didn't go through or whatever. I can't tell you the myriad of possibilities. I'm just saying, don't get your panties in a bunch and try instead to work it out with them and make suggestions to the customer service department.

Yeah... I don't think that was the case. I'm genuinely concerned about them. You'd think when the checks didn't come in, we'd be hearing from them like 6wheeler.

I have had a couple instances that JAX couldnt read the scaned BOL and they have always called me to resend it, I pay more attention to scan quality now so as not to have that issue .
