National carriers is probably the best, unless u go with your own authority there are so many small brokerage houses out there you wouldn't have an issue finding great paying loads, need a little piggy bank to do that though. Stay away from companies like hirschbach and prime they don't pay very well. If you want to lease on I'd go with national.

New O/O on their own authority have trouble booking loads due to lack of history. I really wanted to start my O/O career that way a 3 months ago, but after a few phone calls I found that leasing on to a good (small) company was my best bet.

Get your authority there are plenty of brokers who will give first time ops loads. And being in Ws. has lots of good reefer freight. Otherwise you have cargill in Ws. had a couple friends on with them they didnt complain too much about them.

Don't be nervous about getting your own authority there are many brokers that will take you on with NO problems at ALL
