    I live in the PNW. Lots of log truck jobs here. I looked into it, $14.50 an hour just wasn't that appealing to me. Same goes with wood chip hauling. Pretty enemic wages for the degree of danger.

    I assume that you are just looking for a driving job, right?

    If that's the case, as already suggested, talk to some of the drivers in your area.
    Get a copy of your driving record from OMV. Take it with you when you go to fill out an application.
    Call ahead and get a face-to-face meeting with the owner. (or whoever hires the drivers)
    Some companies pay by the hour, but many around here pay a percentage of the truck's gross. (usually around 20-25%)
    I know some drivers on % that make $1000+ per week, but they get up at 3am and work 6 days a week.

    If you have your own truck, that's another story. LOTS of factors come into play.
