May is a good entry level company. They micro manage your every move. Route you take, where to fuel, how much to fuel and charge for excessive idle time.

They do have great equipment, good running lanes for refer, some good shops on the western side of the country and quite a few drop locations on the western side too.

I hear you there. Its their company. Their policies. I noticed the recruiter trying to talk me out of going 48 states. Start with 11 western she says. told her it didnt matter. Where ever im needed is where Im going. We will see how it goes.

you can always swap between the 2 fleets if you dont like one, tho they dont just throw you back and forth, if you're reefer you usually dont spend much time out west, or I never did since once I got out that way they always had something ready to go back out east. that and I'm guessing theres plenty of guys waiting around for dry stuff anyway

More power to you. Like I said, May is a great entry level company, that's what they are. 1200 new hires every year to maintain a fleet of 1, 000 speaks for itself though. Like I said, good luck. Oh yeah, sorry I misunderstood your other post.I thought you were saying you were thinking about L/O or O/O.

I agree. Even though this is my first trucking job u can tell they really geared it towards the newer drivers. I can't complain though. They pay us new guy 30cent a mile for the first 6 months. Most other trainee companies are paying 26-28 com.

Hey what do you guys think of the 90 dollars a day for 90 days?

It is good for the slow times. You need 2100 miles a week to equal 90$ a day. Right now I am avg 2600 a week. I get anything over that after my 90 days. But for 3 months my pay checks are smaller. But it does guarantee a steady paycheck.

Have you taken the time to calculate that $90.00 a day by the real amount of hours you are using each day? Probably comes to about $7.00 an hour ;-). Deduct the living expenses on the road and that goes down to about $5.00 an hour LOL
