Considering going to work at forward air. I would be running solo western regional. I would also be leasing a truck with them. Looking at threads here i have heard all the negativity about leasing. I know personaly know many drivers it works for. It just seems the ones it doesnt wind up on the threads. I also have know many it didnt. I think forward air may be a better place than many on the leasing deal. In any case i have been a company driver and its not realy about potentialy owning a truck. But about going onto a company i will be happy winth and worth staying with for a long time. I have 2 years over the road. No tickets. No accidents. Willing to think of other options as well. I live near riverside ca.Any input would be greatly appreciated. Negative or positive. Forward air or what ever. Im open to anything good. Although im not interested in local. Thank you in advance!

Is it a lease you can walk away from without any trouble? You could quit and they could possibly continue trying to charge you payments. Also, ad up all payments over the term and see what you will end up paying. One problem with a is lease is they are sometimes more expensive that buying. And some people will tell you that there are tax advantages with a lease. But no matter if you lease or take a loan or pay cash, you can deduct all truck related expenses. Have you been able to save some money.. Maybe I am conservative, but I drove a company truck for 5.5 years and then I went and paid cash for a new truck. I think you should think long and hard about signing up for a lease. Do the math for all your expenses as realistically as possible, including potential down time . I say wait and save up your money.

Will Forward Air give a solo enough miles? I considered them once. Talked to former driver from there. He said he and his wife ran team and did well . But his wlfe quit driving and he then ran solo. He didn't get enough miles as solo.
