Get with a company that just drops at the terminals and let's the city boys do all the local junk. You'll enjoy it more.

Maybe it's because I was in the navy but the things guys complain about are ridiculous. If you do any research you know this is not for everyone. From what I've learned no matter who you are starting off is going to suck deal with it. Most companies who hire newbies are looking for bodies. I'm not that old but it seems everybody wants to start off making money like the guys who have been doing this for 20 years. It's called paying dues maybe it's just art. I'm about to start on this new career and looking forward to the hard times so a couple years from now I can truly appreciate where I am at and what I've been through. I.Y.A.O.Y.A.S

Maybe being realistic about part of the profession snowwy. But just a small fraction of it , at least IMHO anyway. I started out on a milk tank with an uncle for a teacher , then moved on to dumps after the army , had the chance to see the OTR end if trucking with a company for a couple of years running from NC to the west coast back in the '70's......IT WAS different then , but also it was the same too.....I wound up getting a great job that I stayed at for 30+years in the end......life is what you make out of it......

or you take what you can get. beggars can't be choosers. and there aren't many on the west coast to make a lifelong career with. specially if you want insurance and 401k. then your pickings get REALLY slim.

Everyone gets into trucking these days as a last ditch effort to get a job. Most get into the industry cus they heard from a trucker once who claimed he took home 2k a week . Then they sadly realize the truth.
