Presently learning on a ten speed and getting comfortable going without Clutching. However I'm getting conflicting information on if I must double clutch during the road test.... Anyone done the road test recently in southern Manitoba that can shed some light on this?

I'm guessing this may be a case where it depends on the examiner. That kinda sux as that means I'll have to practice something else! Lol.

    Thanks folks!

If it was me, I'd either ask the examiner or just tap the clutch to give him a good show. As long as you don't us too much clutch, it shouldn't have a negative impact on your shifting.

I have a road test coming up next week. Going from 18 speed floating the gears to 10 speed and trying to remember to use the clutch. Should be fun!

Why not learn the correct way and not worry about it...short-cuts/and or faking it will only hurt a potential employee if the examiner has any idea at all how to drive.....and most do..........To the OP....learn how to double clutch....you'll be glad you did , if you ever get the chance at a dream job and fail because you don't know the basics.....

I was taught in school that double clutching correctly was little more than tapping the clutch. I personally find that things go better without the clutch, so that is how I will continue to drive. If you have better luck using the clutch for every shift, I'm happy for you. I haven't taken a lot of road tests, but other than the original test to get my license at the end of school, I've yet to see an examiner that will fail you if you forget to hit the clutch on a couple shifts. I think the majority of drivers on the road don't give the clutch much thought other than starting from a dead stop. For those who drive differently than I do, you have my full support.

Great points there, we all do things a little differently. But I was telling the OP , only my side just like yourself. Hope you didn't take offense to my wording, my apologies if you did. Only 1 place I took a road test for a job that the examiner told me after we finished the test ..."I'm glad you double clutched for the test without being told".....I worked there for over 30 years before I retired...if I would've "faked it" or asked before-hand....I would've never got the job. You guys decide for yourselves.....
