There are so many drivers out here that are not cut out to own a business. If you have one iota of a brain, you can run your own. Every driver either is a business owner or drives for one. The company's did not start out big, they did it one truck at a time, except for Celedon who started out with 10 trucks. Don't tell me it cannot be done. You might not can do it but there are many including me who does it every day and I do make good money and I do live very comfortable.

Much like when you lease a car, you go in knowing you are not buying it, but it will be under a warranty if things go too wrong. Never say never. Anything can be done, especially if it has been done before.

Guys i hate to admit it and for the most part you guys are right but my buddy found a small flatbed company and is averaging a 1.70 all miles and has had only one negative statement in year one of his three year lease on a 06 379. Again not saying this is the normal but if you find a small company that's willing to and you know there operation you can make it work. And know he does not spend his life on the road home most weekends. Hate to say it cause he may see this but i'm proud of him

No. I do not want to avoid getting burned on a lease-purchase. I wanna get burned worse than anybody has ever been burned on a lease. My goal: bankruptcy. Can anybody recommend a company that will ruin me and have me living under a bridge in the shortest time possible. A company that would short my pay would be a plus. Thanks in advance !

in my lease purchase the deductions are taken our per mile, everything for the truck is .43 cpm (i.e onsurance, escrow, truck lease, etc) fuel is running me about .40 cpm, i drive slow and run lightweight freight. my rate is around 1.45 a mile so that leaves.62 cpm coming home, who can complain about that find me a company that pays that to company drivers. Some leases do work they are a rarity, and the type of freight i haul is not for everyone. The one thing you can control is fuel cost slow down, every truck has a different sweet spot, i have brought my cost per mile on fuel down .17 cpm over the last 90 days. This is my wecond l/p did one with NAVL years ago, i learned a lot, and realized with 1 year driving experience i had no business leasing a truck, but over the last 20 years i have studied and learned and now i am a success

As an old timer once told me, buy a truck from a dealership or private owner and stay away from ALL lease programs because they all still have the option to fire you even if your 2 months away from the end of your lease and there is nothing you can do to stop it or get any money back. Also most lease programs are nothing more then a glorified " at will " driver contract that can be cancelled by either party at any time.
