Yep. It usually depends on what kind of spare change the state has to dole out to the flatfeet. It's been off since '08.

The last blitz I went thru got me an inspection sticker on my tractor, both pups and my dolly. 30 minutes of break time. Run legal and don't worry about it.

    me neither.

but i'm guessing this year will be different.

i haven't had very many east coast trips but when i did. very seldomg saw an open scale. but this trip more were open. on sunday even. even indiana was actually open.

now, states like colorado and arizon. last year had random spots besides the scales. spots they know trucks are going to use around the scales.

Boo hoo, they have to do their actual job for 3 days out of the year... It takes maybe 3 extra minutes to see the lining thickness, ringing drums listening for cracks, do a 2nd walk-around with the brakes applied eyeballing the difference in pushrod travel/angle of pushrod & slack adjuster and listening for applied air leaks. Spot one that might be close and take an extra 5 minutes pumping the pedal to auto-adjust the brakes before going back under and measuring pushrod throw.

They ought to be doing that every d&h anyway...
