Getting loaded on a farm with all the large car grain haulers. It's interesting to see how they all load and unload.

Also, there is a guy from corporate here as I don't know who else would wear polo, slacks, and penny loafers on a farm.

So I didn't spring for a hotel room but I'm kinda wishing I had. It's 112 degrees here and I'm cowering in my truck. Luckily I walked around the town this morning because right now it's actually hard to breathe outside... Though that could be due to all the trucks idling to keep their AC running. Kinda glad my opti idle is behaving and staying on. Feel a bit bad for the environment though... :/

Sitting in the Pilot watching the poor Pilot Tanker driver get inspected in the parking lot. DOT has been all over this place today

Arizona was bad last year too, we got a violation at that Pilot. I was on the northern route last year, and from other drivers I gathered that was a good decision.

As for the heat, haven't had it that bad while I wasn't moving. The Mojave gets that bad but I walk my dog before and after it as I don't think he appreciates it being that hot.

Swapped loads in Mount Vernon, IL at the TA. I ended up with a load going down to Cherokee. As I was doing my pre trip on the new trailer, I found a bird's nest in the railing by the pins for the tandem. Still had an egg in it, however, it was cracked.

Dropped trailer at Cherokee, picked up an empty, so I can take it back Friday after my reset here in wonderful Tuscumbia, AL. Looks like I'm sitting out the rest of the blitz.

Heh, I wonder how the DOT would feel about a birds nest?

I'm on a broker load going to La Crosse. It's a load of seed that scales at almost 45,000. With the lightweight trailer my gross is only 76,500 and my tandems are perfectly centered. I'm being paranoid about the inspection and my logs, so I'm feeling pretty confident. Chances are I'll be pulled into a few scales during the 600 miles I'm driving today.

I should have this delivered by Friday morning, so I'll be over 3500 miles for the pay period.

I dunno either, but it would make for interesting talk I'd bet.

Don't worry about the good ole boys, I've been through 3 scales and haven't been pulled around back and I was at 78k with a light weight. From what I've seen, they've had the trucks who shouldn't be on the road, from the looks of the vehicles, behind for inspection. Those guys along with the skateboards, but I've heard that load securement is a big point of emphasis this year. Just do what you've been doing and you should be fine.

Had 3791 paid miles for this week, and I have a pre plan picking up in Cherokee going to Bellemont.

Out of curiosity, where did you pick up the broker load?

Unloaded are reefer of paper last night in bellemont AZ . Then picked up a broker load of cantaloupe in Maricopa AZ , headed for Chicago . The Flag staff area was like a hornets nest of DOT , between yesterday and today we must have seen 25 + DOT doing inspections . Also noticed about 5 guys at the Bellemont pilot with big orange out of service stickers in there windshields
