I hope there is someone with good mechanical info out there that can help with this. I came home for Super Bowl and was getting ready to head back out but had a mysterious pain in my leg. Long story short they found a blood clot and that forced me off the road. I have an APU which was set to cycle on to keep the batteries charged up. I have started the truck for at least 15 minutes every 2 or 3 weeks. Oil change was done in December. Have Centramatic Diesel treatment (has anti-gel) in the fuel tanks. Truck starts easy and runs good. What if anything should I do before going back on the road which, hopefully will be within the next month? Already cleared Landstar requal pending medical release and recertify.

Nothing else, just like if you bought a used truck. Check it out as far as fluids, brakes, hoses, and belts.

Get access to the truck and just take it for a couple of little road tests. Anything can seize up in a short amount of time, especially during winter time, with regards to brake shoes or cams. Make sure you grease it again too. Check your wheel seals, rust will start to grow into the seal lip area. This takes a long time to happen, but you never know. They will start to leak right away if the rust has gotten in there. Make sure your foot pedals move smoothly, they tend to stick when not used after time aswell. Have a good look under the cab, on top of the transmission area, behind the engine. We have found raccoons or other critters make a home in those crannies on unused trucks.

Totally agree , even little drives forward and reverse for 10 feet or so are good, because you work lots of things, clutch, brakes, airbags, uni joints, seals, bushes etc, etc. turn the steering wheel to work power steering and other components. Oh and run that engine till temp gets as high as it can while parked. Also use all the electrics like head lights, indicators etc ( All based on that you can't drive it on the road.)
