Oh and by the way - have you EVER used ANY kind of government service? I don't mean the dreaded "assistance" I mean "service". You know, like drive on a US or interstate highway, or use anything paid for in whole or in part with federal money? Then you are getting assistance - from FUTURE taxpayers, like your kids and mine, because everything has been funded for generations with debt. And has ANYONE you care about - who's older than you, that's the key - EVER gotten Social Security or Medicare? Yes? They've gotten "unearned" government assistance too - why? because they, for demographic reasons, by definition received more than they paid in.

Well not really, Every time ANYONE pays for gas or fuel at the pump, about 25% to 40% in some states is suppose to be used for roads. This is NOT assistance when we are paying to play. Also a large number of people NEVER collect all the SS that they have payed in, business owner being a large number of these as they don't get the employers SS contribution. And No I have never received Medicare or Soc Sec. and never really expect to get any of it... However, I sure pay into it.

The broader point I was trying to make is that there really is no distinction between receiving "government assistance", on the one hand, and using a government "service", on the other. Because, in reality, every single person who lives in the country takes advantage of thousands of government services without even thinking about it or knowing what they are. We all do. And all of these services are subsidized in one way or another. We receive subsidies out of the pockets of others all the time. For example: do you own a home with a mortgage? If so, your mortgage interest deduction is a tax subsidy out of my pocket, because I rent and I get no analogous deduction. The biggest subsidy is the accumulation of debt. Let's say this year's budget is 3 trillion, and tax revenues are 2 trillion. Every single government service we use, then, is subsidized, out of the pockets of our descendants. My SS and Medicare was a sub-example. In my previous comment, I mentioned that people older than you and me, our grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, those folks, received more than they paid in. You and I probably won't.

Look, there is ZERO reason for subsidies... None, Zero, Zip... I own, which means I pay property taxes... Which is where this money should come from, you pay rent obviously... but the owner of the property also pays taxes on said property. The problem is that the money used doesn't always go where it should... then you have problems. This is a take from Peter to pay Paul event.. where now you don't have enough to pay Peter. For example: If Soc Sec wasn't funneled into the general fund and used for god knows what... there would be money there... Look it's not rocket science... the population also increased with and increase in working people... Thus, the money should still be coming in, with the correct good to services value... accounting for inflation. It should balance out, with death rate of Soc Sec receivers... It doesn't because the (idiots in Washington) stole from the fund, and used it in other areas. ...

Ok, Let's look at your budget example: If your budget is 3 trillion, and your have ONLY 2 trillion coming into the budget... You need to cut 1 trillion out... again, NOT rocket science. Someone that CAN afford a house that costs $200,000... Is and idiot and fool... to pick one at the $300,000 level to buy. The simple math doesn't work, nor should they be allowed to purchase one.
