It is free for 60 days to try, then it is $95. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

This is a perfect example to try out in the software. -
You can drive for 11 you just took a 10 hour break so you have a New 11 & a new 14 hour.
The line 3 can total more than 11 hours: Example
Come off a 10 hour break # Midnight. Do 30 minutes on line 4 (12:30 AM NOW) drive 11 hours, do a 30 minute post-trip (now it's 12:00 pm) sleep 10 (now 10:00 pm) so you can drive 2 hours (of course that is the start of your new 14 hour and new 11 so don't forget that on the next days log)
So total driving for that day is 13 hours and 1 hour on-duty. Now I over did it on the pre-trip & post-trip, I did that only for an example to get the point acrossed.

He is correct, but you still need to know the regulations somewhat to plan the loads etc. It does tell you when your 11 & 14 hour is up though (70 hour to)
IT IS WONDERFULL!
Whatever you do, don't let DOT think you are using an on board logging device, you are NOT! If you do you will get a ticket because you won't have all the qualifying things needed.
You are simply using a computer to do your logs

You took a 10 hour break and drove 2.5 hours and they gave you a fine?
Or did you like drive 11 hours take an 8 hour break and drive 2.5 hours (where the total driving time prior to the 8 and after the 8 total more than 11 hours?). Curious george here.
Now I have been told lets say you drive 11 hours take an 8 hour break and drive 2 hours. Well DOT will only shut you down for 2 hours and let you continue to split break. You was in violation because you drove 13 hours with only an 8 hour break, but once you get that 2 you will have 8 hours to drive again. I thought you should shut down for 10, but my DOT man confirmed Texas (who I thought was incorrect) was correct. I will still have my drivers shut down for 10. I have always been taught once you are in violaiton you have to shut down for 10!
But for those who may need this tad bit of info there it is -
You can take your sleeper berth breaks in 2 segments (the shortest being 2 hours). That means the second one has to be 8 hours.
-
Only if you follow the split breaking regulations would that be true.
In his example he was not taking an 8 he was taking a full 10 hour break.
To split one break must be # least 2 and the other break must be 8. Either break can be more, however only the 8 hour sleeper break will extend the 14 hour rule. Much more detail on it than that, but that's a quick recap of the split breaking.
