Just stumbled across this. STAY AWAY! I wanted B-train experience, I'm from NL and took a job with these guys last year, paying my own flights to and from. Was told prior to accepting the job that all living expenses were covered by them, other than flights. $29/hr start, my own truck, $3/hr raise at 3 months.
When I arrive in fox creek I'm told that I'm responsible for paying for my own groceries ($$$ expensive in fox creek) cable/landline/Internet if I wanted those things. Fine, I put up with it. 6 months later still fighting for the raise, running different unit every day, and never sat in B-trains. Boss informs me that they are deducting $500/month from me for rent. I refused to sign the consent form several times, to which he said the last time "if you want to work here your going to sign this". 3 days later after spinning out on an icy hill (throw chains on and continue running) boss calls me in and asks me to sign an incident report for ditching the truck, I refuse, he tells me I'm fired. I wouldn't allow them to take the rent, so by saying I put a truck in the ditch (didn't happen) gave him an excuse to let me go.

All in all, they lie to you to get you to accept the job and fly across the country at your own expense. When you get there they tell you all your real expenses. If you don't comply they find/make an excuse to can you.

$29.00/ hr with your own truck? Or are you saying it was a dedicated truck?

I'm pretty sure he meant an assigned truck. No one would actually agree to $29/hr to the truck.

    Would they? :biggrin_2556:
