Get the factory dash mount and run the General. Better than the Cobra, although the 29 is what I run. I leave mine in the truck all the time.
Cascadia cb question.

That looks like a Cobra 25 in the pic. Too small for a big export.

I got my general Washington to fit up top in my 2010 Cascadia I just removed the whole outer piece as well and it fits perfect. You could also just use a hot knife and make the opening a few cm's larger and it will fit great and look cleaner that way.

This Radio will fit the stock Cascadia mounting hole & has a front mic jack too...
Awesome radio, mine kicks 7 receives really well after mods too...
Forgot to add if you go this method you will need to either run new coax to factory mounts or run something to the mirror like some do..
I run new coax to drivers side factory mount with a 4' firestick & get amazing results..

Mounted my AR-3500 right to the dash with 3M doubled sided body side molding tape. When you take it out it doesn't leave any residue or markings on the dash. I ran my power directly under the hood in front of the clutch pedal on the firewall. Ran the power cord and coax out the of the driver side wall right behind the signal light. Takes about an hour to do it but no holes drilled and will completely be in stock shape when you get out of the truck.

New question...
Anyone try using the grab bar on the back wall to mount a antenna? You see flat top petes use that method and im just curious if I would just be doing un needed work..
Anyone know how bad the swrs and range really are with a nice set of k40 coils in the stock locations?
Im really really wanting to buy a new uniden 980 ssb cb so ill have a nice radio and not have to modify my cubby hole. -
You can get by with it back there if you position it right. But doesn't perform very good unless you get a top loaded antenna and it sticks up above he trailer. But if you have 13'6" trailer, your antenna ain't gonna last long.Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this.

I had a mount off that bar. The arm swung to the drivers side. I ran a connex 3300 HP with a Wilson 2000. I never had a problem with range.Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this.

Well I did done research today, saw a driver with the bracket on the mirror, a k40 coil antenna, nice coax and a stryker cb.. he let me hear it and he was walking all over people here at the ts but got a compliment from 10 miles up the road.
I dont really like to key up over people or be a nuisance but like ive stated.. ive always just wanted to be loud and proud for a ways.. without bleeding into other channels.
So I think ill just bite the bullet.. buy a nice set up and go from there
