Schneider has offered me a JC Penny dedicated I have just finished school. Is this something good to start with? Also I live in Georgia and will be staying in the southeast.. Do they have apu's on the trucks? I know its been covered before but I was wondering if they do anything different in the south

No APU's. Mickeyrat runs JC Penny out of Columbus Ohio, he can tell you more. I liked the account when I filled in for it a few times, good pay and the work isn't that hard. I have a feeling that account won't be around much longer tho, just a hunch.rdean1109 Thanks this.

Maybe that's why they told somebody else promised the account he needed a hazmat endorsement .rdean1109 Thanks this.

still full steam ahead with the store updates. Looks great. Fairly open and very brightly lit. Now that the have stopped alienating the customers who still shop there , I think they have a shot.fuscia Thanks this.

Rick, they are a couple slow times during the year so we get loaned out to other accounts temporarily(usually the junior guys on the account). Keeps us running and opens up freight possiblities.

I'm applying to that too as an experience driver who hasn't driven in a few years and was curious about it. I just need to get my foot in the door to revitalize my CDL. I looked into the Swift Walmart dedicated, but it's 6 days a week. I'd rather have weekends off. Is it every weekend off or off during the week?
-
Are the drivers getting home every week? During the week end or mid week?
-
From what I was told you will be home Fri, sat....... sat , Sun........ or Sun , mon.....
fuscia Thanks this. -
Now it's 3 drivers just here promised that account . Sounds like the old bait and switch . Check Averitt for short , paid refresher training . They also have deicated retail accounts . I know they do Cracker Barrel , TJ Maxx , and Shoe Carnival .fuscia Thanks this.

would depend on the region or area your "SSC" serves. NE have more time sleeping in the truck due to the length of run. Its the odd day spent in the truck for me, 95% of the time I sleep in my own bed. Out of Columbus our average length of haul is 400 to 500 per run with some much shorter in state runs, depending on how fast you are able to get the unload done you get back to the SSC(store support center). Some runs are 600 plus with one topping out at 900ish roundtrip(our farthest out) We serve Ohio, West Penn(pitt up to erie and points west of there) NW W Virginia, 90% of Kentucky, 2/3s of Indiana, and Michigan from US 127(lansing aboveup to Mt Pleasant and below) Up to Bay City to Port Huron.
I'm off early Friday afternoon til late Sunday night(2200 to 0000 for Monday delivery) Work between 45 and 60 hours a week.
Its a good gig in my opinion.fuscia Thanks this.
