Finally got timme to get online!
Truck is a dream to drive, except for a clutch pedal rattle under boost. Linkage seems tight, and I put some padding onto the pedal where it meets the brackets, but didnt help.Thoughts?
    Funky 4 way deal too.
4 ways work fine, but when you put the brakes on, they stop flashing. The lights on the dash (turn signal lights) are both illuminated, but no flashing when foot brakes are applied. Anyone run into it before?
It is under warranty, but if this stuff is an easy fix, I dont mind getting a little dirty myself instead of waiting at a dealer etc.
Also, some cab curtains would be awesome, instead of just the sleeper ones.

BTW, I cant recommend the place I got the truck from enough. Thetruckshop.net is their web address. Nothing I asked was too much trouble, and even though they gave me a killer deal, they treated me like I just spent $200k there. Superb dealer and staff.

It would be nice to have the curtains around the windshield. Nice to hear your happy with the truck. Good luck!

My 04 works the same as far as when you apply brakes, the 4 ways lock up. Must be how it's wired from the factory I guess. Nice to read your positive comments about the seller. Experiences like this are far too much the exception these days.

Nice to hear Leftlane!! Good looking ride you got there!!

I had my signals doing goofy things when my left front signal light had a short in it. But if all the lights work, it might just be the way it is set up from the factory. Older Sterling/Fords and some Maks used to be like that too.

    Thanks guys.
Today was a semi wasted day IMHO.
I unplugged the tail lights at the truck, same thing with the 4 ways.
Dealer I got it from is still working with me on this, a good place indeed. They said about going back to the 7 way lead at the truck end, and separating the brake and turn signals there. He is going to ask his shop guys for exact locations Monday.
I looked at mounting my strobes today, no go as I need to make a bracket that wraps around the fiberglass cab extensions.
Then looked at installing my extending mirrors, no go again as they need modifying to fit the WS mirror brackets.
Then went under the hood and saw the return spring for the clutch pedal, mounted to a straight metal bracket that is in turn bolted to the bell housing. Undid the bolt a little, pushed the bracket down some, thus tightening the spring, and tightened the bolt. Hopefully that cures the clutch rattle under power.
Then installed my retractable airline that I use for my impact gun, airing up tires, etc. Plumbed it straight into the tank with a shut off valve inline, so no need to undo trailer gladhands etc,
Will change the CB out tomorrow, as a driver made the comment of "that sounds like junk, throw it out the window" when I spoke on the factory installed Cobra 29. Thinking maybe being sat since 2009 didnt do it any good.
Then went to Northern Tool and picked up a new Honda EU3000is generator to replace the one I left on the old rig. For @$2k, they cant be beat IMHO.
Still love the new ride, brings a smile to my face every time I look at it!

Martin, they do this from the factory on purpose. This way people behind you know that you are stopping.... think about it, if the 4 ways are flashing as your cruising, then you stop, but the 4 ways are still flashing, they won't know you are slowing down. Mine does not do this, but my understanding is that trucks 2007+ do it???

Thats why you have a 4 light system on the trailer, two turns and two stops. :smt023

check to make sure your exhaust y-pipe isnt hitting the cab mount crossmember under load (look on top of the pipe for a shiny spot about a foot past the turbo) mine is, as the last guy installed it wrong, and it makes all kinds of crazy noises and vibrations in the cab while pulling a hill loaded, as the motor is trqueing just enough to make contact.

    Thanks guys.
Both scenarios make perfect sense, so I am not going to bother with it to be honest!
I did unplug the tail lights on the truck though, and it made no difference. This was also with the trailer unhooked.
The noise was for sure the clutch linkage/pedal. As when I either lifted the pedal slightly or pressed it slightly, the noise went away.
Will see how it goes tomorrow on the way home.
