The xgauge features vary depending on what sensors are wired to the ECM. But what you do is pull codes from the ECM using the Scangauge and e-mail them to the Scangauge programmers. Then they send you the input codes to enter into the Scangauge to unlock more gauges. My truck is a 2013 and it gave me 16 more gauges. Some of the new ones are DPF input temp, DPF output temp, DEF temp, engine desired operating RPM, SCR temp, turbo pressure, etc
Only 1 decimal point. Any info entered into the trip feature is saved until you delete it. Otherwise yes every time the key is turned off for 5 minutes the standard gauges clear.
The unit can also clear trouble codes from the ECM. One word of advice. The cable is dual sided for either a J1939 or a J1708. It does not at this time have a pass thru. So if you have any other devices connected to this port they will need to have a pass thru or you cannot use both at the same time.ENR, VisionLogistics and bubbanbrenda Thank this. -
That is why I really have no need to upgrade my Scangauge to the KR model. I don't have a whole bunch of other things that I am itching to read. No DPF, No SCR, I already have an EGT gauge in the dash. You mention KR's shows actual fuel mileage, real time, updated every few seconds. Not sure if that is something different, but mine also does that. And mine also does the running cost per mile on fuel. Could be a version thing and not specific to the KR model. And the reading and clearing codes feature is also neat. I have used it several times.
Colorato Thanks this. -
I might not have explained the fuel mileage feature correctly.
It shows both a AVG and a real time that updates every 2-8 seconds. I think it nice. Granted as a company driver it's not really benefiting me as much now as it will when I take the plunge.
Truthfully I'm just a nib-#### and wanted to get as much info from the truck as possible. Either way if something breaks I'm still stuck on the side of the road. -
Again, my original, non KR scangauge also shows average mpg, real time mpg (with adjustable update rates), tankful mpg, and up to three separate trip mpgs. And I can adjust the measurement calculation in the box so to more reflect the actual mpg calculated pump to pump. Have mine dialed in pretty precise, because the gallons I actually put on to fill match within a couple of gallons to what the scangauge says the fuel I have used. And, of course, cost per mile on fuel usages. Now, maybe the version number of mine is so close to what came out in the KR version. But I got mine for $149 delivered several months ago. The KR one came out shortly after I got my scangause and is ballpark $190. Not worth it to upgrade. For someone getting their first one, maybe. Depends on what you need to do. For me, the KR unit does nothing I am chomping at the bit to shell out another $190 to get. I'll just use the one I have. For those considering a unit, that gives you a choice. The original scan gauge d like mine for under $150 or the KR one for $190. I suppose it is always "neat" to have the lastest and greatest, but if it is not going to benefit me, then it is not worth it.

Surprised it isn't called the Scangauge KR 3000D. More snake oil. No there there.

so how do you pull the codes and send to the manu. to get the X package. i just bought mine and might was well have the full package.
is there an additional cost also?
i like the idea of the scangauge. much cheaper then buying and installing gauges. cuz i don't have a boost gauge or egt gauge. and who knows what else i can use this thing for.
i'm a little bothered about 2 trouble codes that pop up as soon as the key is turned on though.
any ideas on where to find what these codes mean? and future codes. -
The egt does not go through the ECM on a C-15

all the trucks i've driven since coming back out on the road have all been isx's. minus one d60.
isx is kind of like the ford taurus. biggest junk motor, biggest junk car. mechanics can't or won't work on them. yet everyone wants them.
