I like how they lump all trucking togeather !!! I drive a fuel tanker local in wa state . I very seldom get runs more than 2 hrs out around 100 miles . Then it takes 45 min of doing nothing to unload . Then 2 hrs back wait in line 1/2 to 1 hr load 20 min it's not like I'm really over worked why on earth would I need a manditory 1/2 break ??? So now we can all find every illegal spot in the world to park my hazerdous truck to kill a 1/2 hr
New HOS rules?

Why can't you log 1/2 hour sleeper while waiting in line to unload ?
-
U can but if u pull ahead in that half hr my computer will tell on me . U can bet I will get around it . It's just another one of those things that will make u be illegal
airforcetoo Thanks this. -
If he's local he probably doesn't have a sleeper. He'll have to log that break off duty.

Some EOBR's can record even the slightest move ....you can't even go 5mph on many without it telling on you ... since we're on the topic, what's the lying on logs ticket go for nowadays?!?

Friend forgot to post a fuel stop and it had times on it. Idaho nailed him with 2 tickets worth 700.00 in fines.
I think he had another meal receipt or some receipt for a part on the truck also that was not recorded in the logbook. Found in a search of the truck.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Not to mention the ding against the CSA score....airforcetoo Thanks this.

I remember when I first started.... scales everywhere were always open..... they'd look at log books, and weigh trucks, and write tickets..... then, it seemed everyone got to a point where they were running legal, weights were legal, cause shippers were loading legal, logs were legal cause drivers had plenty of hours and flexibility within the old regs..... and the states started having financial problems, cause bad money managers were spending money they didn't have.... the state scales that normally would be open all the time would be closed.... state budget planners were trimming waste, and scales that never wrote tickets just didn't need to be open....
I think these new regs are an attempt by government to return to the good old days of ticket writing.
