pulled apart an old injector I had layin around the other day just to see how it worked. after haney and far-call tried to explain it to me. I thought I knew what they were talking about. man was I wrong! now that I see how they are put together I completely understand about how clean of an environment you have to have to work on them. It doesn't take much of a spec of dirt to screw one up. it explains a lot about why there is a high failure rate with these. still don't know what I need to know about an injector. probably never will. all I do know is you cant just rip into one on a work bench in a dirty garage like mine and expect it to be right afterwards. a friend of mine that has a (clean room) where he works injectors is going to try and show me in the next few weeks. cant wait!

Diesel fuel injection systems and injector tolerances are actually much tighter than most NASA rocket and space design specs.
