There will be times that he's just sitting at a shipper/receiver or a truck stop. That's a great time to practice his backing.

and told go deliver this
had one guy stop at a toll booth tell me the truck wouldn't fit thru there
all I could say was it did an hour ago
if you raised him with common sense and he posses that quality
he will be ok -
Practicing backing at truckstops is a great way to irritate drivers trying to get through the lot . He might even get posted on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiSGgmiAeGo
Hey look at this .

Worried Mom Thanks this. -
That's very true. But I'll bet they wouldn't be quite as irritated if they realized that it may well keep him from backing into their trucks in the future. Then again, some drivers are irritated by everything.

I have seen several drivers show up at guard shacks at chemical plants wearing tank tops , sandals , and shorts . If guard shacks reported that to QC the driver was history .
-
Guard shacks should report crap like that. Ridiculous if a driver shows up wearing that stuff.

If your hours run out for your reset and your not home what happens? How will you get home? with schneider? and are they going by that hour rule now?
-
If you run out of hours on the road you just sit. If he is running out of hours all the time then he is not logging right. If your logging right and still run out of hours then you should be thankful because that means you got some great miles.
-
It depends how far he is from home but it's the driver's problem , not Schneider's . If he's close enough he can have someone pick him up and bring him back . When you're out of hours you're out of hours . Some carriers will allow a driver to drop a trailer at a secure terminal and bobtail home and back off duty but that is allowed under very limited circumstances .
