Sure pattyj, most likely a thousand of them! lol But Transam is who I decided on to get me started. Hope they're a good fit for me, but I can always go elsewhere after I get a year or so under my belt.
pattyj Thanks this. -
Trans Am is a good start up company, well of course I heard there training got cut short as far as weeks
but you gonna have to learn it yourself anyways. Just have common sense and be safe, even if it's going against the driver manager. Remember YOU are the one driving the truck.

Thought I would tell you all about something that happened in last couple of days, if I don't use the correct terminology please over look it. Husband loves his truck and is very precise about taking care of it....checking fluids, looking it over before he gets in it, etc.....probably the same things that most of you do. Breakdowns are hard on the budget so he does all he can do to take care of things. Last week was pretty stressful ....he got hung up taking care of a lot of trailer issues that other drivers should have taken care of. He started sounding really tired...even after sleeping...and was a might snippy with me. (Translation- He was fixin' to get hit with the iron skillet when he got home) I thought it was just the stress from the week before but I remembered a post that another trucker's wife had put on another site about an exhaust leak on her husband's truck. So I told husband about it...he says no, I go over the truck all the time, besides I don't smell exhaust fumes. I tell him that neither did the other lady's husband. He still doesn't think there is a problem....but decides to take a look. Sure enough he finds a bracket missing from a pipe joint. When he gets the truck back from the shop, they had found a second exhaust leak under the hood. So I guess what I am trying to say is know how you feel after a long day of driving, and after resting if you should start to feel unusually fatigued or grumpy, don't just chalk it up to having a stressful week....take a good long look at your truck. TransAm has great trucks and good maintenance, but the trucks get a lot of wear and tear under all kinds of weather and road conditions.

Thanks everyone, for your posts. I am learning something every time I check this thread! Great to know that the Transam community cares about each other. HometownQueen, glad your hubby found those leaks, and thanks for posting that info! Good info, transam pete. I'm gonna have to come up with a little better nickname here...I just used my email name when I joined up. I'm not even sure I can change it now, come to think of it!:smt102
