I'm not talking about calling the cops when the shooter is there, this is after he sped off.I just hope I never encounter such a situation.I may be too seriously hurt to do anything.
mje Thanks this. -
Now that's the right attitude to have, lol.
NewNashGuy and mje Thank this. -
I would try to get their plate and get away from them and call the police cuz knowing my luck they would have kids or a baby in the car that I wouldn't see... Ya never no... This actually almost happened to me and a friend once... Rolling down 95 in Virginia some older jaguar cut us off and nearly hit us and then slowed down so my friend, who was driving at the time, kinda did the same thing to him.... Next thing we know he is alongside of us 2 lanes over waving a pistol in front of him directed toward us... We slowed down and called the cops as he exited the freeway in a hurry... Turns out there was a sheriff sitting on the on ramp of that exit shooting radar... They picked him up and brought him to us on the side of the highway to ID him... Turns out they found a lot more in his car than just an illegal firearm

Sure, I agree and would do the same (assuming he sped off immediately after shooting). There'd probably be little to no chance any truck could catch up to a 4-wheeler on the highway, that was now hell bent on getting away. BTW, if the shot is fired and THEN the trucker chases him down, it's no longer "self-defense".
I tried to keep my answer/reaction to the scenario just limited to what the OP has stated (Driver of car shoots at trucker(ROADRAGE).
In a "shot(s) fired" scenario like this, answers will vary greatly, depending on different details that the reader assumes. Then again, my answer assumed he fired shot and didn't immediately speed off AND I wasn't armed at that moment. I guess we can all be guilty of assuming info that is not listed in the OP's wording.
mje Thanks this. -
You might have to weigh that option out. Would I be better off with a wound to the leg and home four months with the wife nagging about why I'm not bringing home the bacon.......lol...Or be running the highways with a bandaid on my wound.....which would be the best option?.....lolTruckinchic, mje and NewNashGuy Thank this.

yea and my heads down by the dash, and they'd better hope their car runs faster than 107 because my foots buried in the throttle, and they're about to become a bug on my bumper! since I don't have a gun to shoot back at the current moment otherwise the lead would be flying. I'm a firm believer in stand your ground, you wanna shoot and me and try to kill me you'd better be ready for the conciquences I'm 13ft tall and weigh 80000lbs, that little car is 5ft tall and weighs 2000lbs who's going to win when it comes to throwing weight around. They are firing upwards, I'm firing downwords, they have the chance to kill more people than I do if they miss, granted rounds can ricochet off the pavement but forces will be disipated and shrapnel is better than a projectile going through your body. And when all is said and done I'm suing the idiot that shot at me for the cost to fix my truck, emotional distress, my eyesight going to hell, me going deft, my relationships ending, the earth not being flat, hell anything i can think of, and downtime...Hell I'd be trucking for fun then and with the way society is I'll win on all counts
. They can stick that in their pipe and smoke it...because they're obviously smoking something if they're shooting at truckers guess they didn't listen to the song Don't mess with US truckers.
link provided that those idiots should listen too.
