Hello all. I'm currently with a company doing L/P. I'm not doing bad. Better than I thought I would. However most days after an assigned run, I'm left with 3 to 4 hrs of drive time. Often 10 hr breaks are 13 or 14. To me, leaving those hrs on the table is losing money. Money I could be earning. I am dispatched from a dispatcher. Is Schneiders L/P pick your own freight worth it or am I best to stay where I am. Schneider paints a nice picture, but is it all they are telling me? I guess im comfortable where I am but don't feel im topping out as far as pay goes.

I've been looking into the choice program as well... heard a lot of positive and I can honestly say that I've heard NO negative things about it. Every IC that I talk to seems to be either perfectly content or very happy with it. Sorry I can't be of more help, just sharing what I have gathered from talking with other drivers that are on it.

Who are you currently doin your L/P with?

You and I talked about this at the OC the other day and I will echo you here. While I don't know the specifics I can say that I have heard not one complaint at all from any independent that is one it. No complaints is almost unheard of in trucking. At this point I am honestly considering switching to van for 6 months or so just to get on the choice program.

pay attention, ask questions and be deliberate in every thing you do. Think through your actions so you have a "script" of what you need to do before you do it.

I got a call yesterday from Schneider Finance that I was approved. Been investigating this whole career move going Owner Operator. I'm going to go for a brand new Cascadia Evolution. Hopefully it's not a train wreck waiting to happen...haha
