target has a Emerson 1.8cu for 84.99.. got the two year replacement warranty with it as well... plugged it in an start up as 100 watts, an running around 80 watts
-
How are you measuring the startup and running wattage?
-
Wal-Mart has a small 110v fridge for $90.
-
problem with 110v fridges is they are not designed for the ruff vibrations of a truck. they generally fail after 6-12 months. Even with a 2 year warranty its still a pain in the ### to get um replaced.
-
i'll see this for myself i guess.. just tired of buying ice for the dam cooler.. I was measuring it by the meter on my invertor showing wattage used..
-
Couldnt agree more, must've bought 12of them ##### things! Lol
-
The real problem with a small fridge that isn't made for a truck is using the inverter that is not of a good design or pure sine wave. A lot of these fridges fry out after 6 months or a year of having to deal with brownout conditions from the inverter (meaning the input voltage of the inverter drops to below 12 volts while the output drops to 90 volts or less when some things happen like starting).
If I was to put back my microwave, I would continue to use my 2500 watt inverter for that and then a 1500 watt inverter for my fridge, laptop and other things. -
This is what I use, it's pricey, but it can be a freezer or a cooler-I make my meals before I leave on the road, vacuum pack them-freeze them- heat them up with a very small micro-wave.
$499.00 =savings every week and better meals.
Lot better then stopping to eat at a truck stop. I save a lot of money and eat a hole lot better, like some drivers say-I pull in to a rest area and have a nice hot dinner or lunch.
I have had this in the rig now for about 2.5 yrs, no problems 12v and 120 built in. has a programmable thermostat that can go down to -8. have it set at 43.
I also have a brother in a rig and he has had his for about 2 yrs, no-problems, he has said it was the best money spent he loves it.
