In my mind, here at least, I think some of this "brainwashed driver syndrome" is the fault of the insurance companies, I have had some good, clean cut, can think for themselves types come thru the door, guys that I would, myself, take under a wing an "TEACH" them the ropes, BUT because they have no previous, verifiable exp. I can not get them insured.
I would think it much easier to teach the above person who is already responsible, to drive a truck, than to teach someone who just came out of trucking school to be, clean cut, responsible, and think for themselves.
HOS changes and my perspective on EOBR's...

I have been keeping my eye on him.He is working for a ''bigger'' bottom dweller outfit and taking a beating...Trucks are 62MPH,Q-Com,E-Logs and only 32 Cents a mile..He calls me everyday with the Horror stories. This week he was gone from Sunday Night to Tonight sometime and only got 1500 Miles here around Jersey,PA and NY...He is counting the days when he can come work for me and make some REAL MONEY the old fashioned way...
It really is PATHETIC what these outfits do to these ''new'' people...And the Ins Companies are passing us all to the Lowest Common Dinameter...In the near no one will want to drive a truck... -
I talked to a driver that has one in his rig...An O/O mind you....He tells the slow assed shipper/receivers that he has an EOBR that's tied in the the ECM and when the clock runs out....It prevents the truck from moving......He said he's never been delayed.....With that little white lie....KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -

I know you can do that now but what about if they became a mandatory regulation? I'm not trying to be a smart butt. Just trying to clarify. -

E-LOGS will never become ''Mandated''..This word ''mandate'' that is tossed around is only coming from the Pissed Off E-Loggers whom chose the Mark Of the Beast...
It gives them a warm fuzzy feeling that someday they will have lot's of company in there Misery and there walk to the slaughter house.........
I can see it know if every single truck has E-LOGS...The highways will be treacherous and ZERO parking..I kinda want to see it in a perverted way.I wanna see when every truck falls on the same 10 hours off...ROLMAO...That would be entertaining to all the SHEEPLE gathered in a parking lot... -
you know everybody talks about working long hours driving to many hours, driving a truck was and still is not work in my mind,so long hours is not more work for me,nothing better than being behind the wheel, turbo whistling tires humming, you who hate this life need to get out and let us who know how to do it have at it.most wont understand my way of thinking but a few will, its never been a job never will be.if i just wanted a job i would go to factory

Uh....You might want to read up on Ann Ferro.....She has a big hard on for mandating EOBRs for every commercial rig on the road.....
