Old Rube's truck stop in Jersey City NJ....

Upon entry if you did not have a Knife or a Gun,you could ''rent'' one for the night from the fuel desk....Ahhhhh those were the days....

 

Pilot/Road Ranger sure know how to screw up a truck stop. They have it down to a science.

 

You can't drive 30 miles on I-65 in KY without seeing a Pilot. Ridiculous.

 

And their trucks had Lease Drive Train written in Art Deco font.

 

It's about the same here in Northern Illinois. They're everywhere....

 

i drove through that parking lot in 1995 an d seen many things happening that a midwest country boy had never seen before. never stopped went back out to the turnpike service plaza not much better

Its not the oldest but a classic truckstop with alot of history in portland oregon
