Roadmedic: There is an email option in the app. You can email your logs to the company or send them to your printer. I would suggest you pose your GPS question to Big Road. They will answer any questions promptly. You might also look at a different cell phone plan. Are you using a Cdn. smart phone in the US? Or are your running Canada only?

I live in the states.
My company does not allow use of logs other than those they provide
I have ddl and cannot use it either.
I posted the comment about the use of the gps, so that other drivers can be aware of the potential cost involved on the phone. I found out the cost of the gps in advance talking to the customer service people. It is why mine is disabled.Last edited: Jul 6, 2013

There's no cost to use a GPS in Canada. However, enabling data on your phone to allow geolocation lookup could get expensive.
However, data is *not* required for BigRoad. I've used it all through school with data shut off on my phone to save battery power. The only difference is that I have to type in the location manually. Yes, the app will put a warning on the main screen, but you can ignore it. -
Both the carriers I have had told me the same thing. The gps uses data on the phone and data is the costly thing in Canada.

That's the geolocation lookup. Disable data (or the GPS) altogether, and it's not a problem. The software works fine; it's just that the "Location" field on your change of status isn't filled in automatically.

I deleted it since it stated that it had to have it.
I cannot even use the DDL I have paid for since my company only accepts logs on their forms. -
Obviously, if your company requires paper logs to be submitted on their forms, then you will (at some point) be filling out their forms by hand.
Here at school, we've had to fill out the company log sheets by hand as part of our training. I've been using BigRoad as kind of a notepad to keep track of things, and doing the official log at night at my desk. -
I just use the log program to track logs before I turn them in. Update it on the weekends before I head out. That way, I have copies of where I have been.

Trucklogger just released an update that fixes a rounding error for the 34 hour reset calculation
