Yeah, I'm not worried about cold weather here. I think the coldest I've experienced here in the last 6 years is 26 degrees F. Well, I don't have a safe place to park both other than leaving the combination at the Petro thats 4 miles from my apt. There is a business right across the street from my apt that I was going to ask if they minded if I parked the tractor in their parking lot while on my home time. Its definitely a question I will ask next time I see the recruiter that comes to our school or when I go to orientation in Ellenwood.

The recruiter that comes by the school has been asked what Roehl's trucks are governed to. His reply was 63 mph. Is this true? So many other company trucks I've seen on the road running well over 75 mph. One even blew my doors off one night and I caught up to him and kept pace at 93 mph.

63 on the pedal 61 on the cruise control
-
Correct; the only trucks we can pass (to my knowledge) are Prime's. O/O's aren't governed but it's their fuel they're burning of course.
-
A few others are 62 Con-way is one couple others I can't think of right now.technoroom Thanks this.

International anything is a peice ****! Even that Lonestar.

I'm a peterbilt guy but I like this prostar. Main problem that keeps it in the shop is not an "international" thing. It's the stupid tpms sensor in the tires.

trust me when I tell you that you don't want to be doing 75 mph "right out of the chute" from school. That's pretty fast when your running loaded at 79,000 and have to come to a sudden slow down in traffic, especially when you're still getting used to driving solo. I know I personally was as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs my 1st few months! Lol, my truck was castrated at 72, but it never saw more than about 67
mph until I felt a little more at ease with everything. Good luck and stay safe my friend!inbdusfor20yrs Thanks this. -
Well I will say I'm about 90% positive my Prostar (mid-roof) can do 64 and some change, because with GOOD tires, no head wind, and no load taller than my cab I can pass Prime, Con-Way, Schneider, TMC (Anyone could pass them) A few Werners now and then... there are others also. But still, I spend most of my time bieng passed.
-
Yeah, I've noticed since making that post that I can occasionally pass more kinds of trucks than just Prime. I get passed so often though and get to pass others so seldom, that I lose track of who we can pass.
It is true though, that just staying in the right-hand lane and having the traffic flow by you is probably safer...I saw a couple ex-Roehl drivers remark on another thread that it's a little more stressful for them now because they have to decide whether to pass other trucks or not, just because they can.
