You let strangers sleep in your bed at home? How would a trainer be a "jack wagon" if he doesn't want someone sleeping in his bed?

Well, I've got my own sheets and stuff to put on there. We'll see what happens. My trainer will probably change his mind after I fall out of the top bunk a couple of times will trying to get out to go take a leak. I fell out of a bunk bed when I was a kid and I remember how that felt. Might end up bending the shifter.

You will survive a week and a half on top bunk. Don't sweat it man.

Worrying about the top bunk will be the least of your worries being out here. Just relax and learn from your trainer. You'll be fine.

I had a student that weighed 380 and was about 5' 8". He weighed himself at a shipper on those scales made to weigh pallets. He made it up to the top bunk. It moaned and groaned a little bit when he got up there but it was fine. The dude had a belly so big he couldn't see the ignition to put the key in unless he opened the door to see around his gut. He said, "I could find it if they put hair around it." I am still trying to forget that mental image from almost 10 years ago.

Your Trainer lives in his truck basically and will have lots more stuff than you will be allowed to have during the 10 days or so that you're training. My trainer had his whole lower bunk covered with bags, etc. and he moved them all every night over to the two drivers' seats and floorboards to clear his sleeping area. It would be a much bigger hassle to move all of his stuff from the top bunk every night. I had two bags shoved down at the end of my top bunk where they stayed all the time. Good luck getting the bottom bunk, but it could possibly happen.

When I went through training I was about the same size as you and I slept in the top bunk. It wasn't too comfortable, and made for some long nights, but I just put in my time and finally got my own truck when the training was finished. One thing I would do is ask your trainer to park on either a flat surface, or an incline where the front of the truck is higher than the back. One night we parked where the truck was in a "down-hill" position where the front was lower than the back and I felt like I was going to fall out of bed the entire night.

The good news about it all is that I made it through the training and I'm sure you will too. Good luck!
