Yeah my buddy works for crst and gave me his login to peruse the load board....but he also said that's usually the loads noone wants, the agents usually have better loads. I just like planning weekly trips just to approximate what I could make. Been thinking about gettin my own.

Well I'd have to drive 45mph to get 7.5mpg also if you won't to have a debate about slowing down I'm ready you drive 60 and ill drive 70 at the end of the week ill drive 600 miles farther than you sounds like an extra run ill get in that week and bump my gross up $1,500 while you save $400 in fuel who wins?

Thats an old argument. Besides why would I want to drive 600 more miles a week? I know my numbers and what I need to gross and I dont have to run like a raped ape to make my living. I run smart not hard, I drive 55-58,why throw my hard earned money out the window by driving 60. You go ahead and drive the extra 600 miles if thats what it takes to for you to make money,Id rather have that 40 hours or so a month at home but thats me.

Did you notice I said most operations? Just for the new people that might not be up to speed on how things work could you explain why you would have to drive 45 to hit 7.5. Is it because your over size, run to fast, poor truck specs. I know at least one car hauler thats pushing 7.0 and more than a few OS guys well over 7.0 and I know guys with classics pulling decks pushing 8.0.

I'd rather work 3 weeks out of the month instead of all 4 weeks and enjoy spending my money. When I'm on the road I'm not out here to hang out and listin to the radio and watch movies at the truck stops, that extra $3,k a month goes to my race car that I get to go all over the country with I live to have fun and enjoy life not to live to work!

Out of all seven trucks I've owned all have been around 6mpg except the 2000 Volvo I had with a 12.7 13 speed 373 rears midroof it did 6.8-7.0 in fact right now I'm getting 4.2mpg at 60 should I slow down more think it would help???

Hang out, listen to the radio and watch movies? You dont have time your to busy doing the raped ape thing. Why not set your rate so you can run 55 get 7.5 and hit your gross in three weeks? Do you even have a set of numbers or are you just out there running because you "live to have fun and enjoy life not to live to work". Just curious if you know what your cost per mile to operate is,mine is .84 which is fuel, truck payment, ins, maint and misc back office costs.

Thats bad 4.2 at 60,is that a 30,60,90 day average or what? Sounds like you have a sick truck,I would have to be getting a REALLY good rate to operate with those kind of numbers. The run Im on right now with my 09 Cascadia with DD15,A/S,336's and wide singles and 8k in the box is averaging 8.5+,I was at 9.25 but have had some head winds. Now to be honest 99.9% of the time Im at 2.25+ and 25k or less (usually 15k or less) which combined with my tractor gives me a huge advantage. I shopped for my tractor with the expectations of no less than 7.0 even at 80k.

LOL my cost for fuel alone runs $.68 a mile last 30 day avg and that's with my fuel discount so with out that my fuel cost would run $.77/mi. I'm rolling making $3.60/mi right now so you really think I care about a half mpg?

Thats not a rate guys are going to be getting in most operations. If you took your numbers and tried to run at 2.25+ you would be hurting. My fuel cost for the last 90 days is running .48 and 3.54 per gallon. We get cost plus .025 at TA/Petro so Im usually paying .25-.50 off pump price. And every bit of fuel saved is money that Im keeping in my pocket even if its only a half mile per gallon.
