I wish someone would mandate a study on how safe these company's are that have EBOR compared to the ones that use paper logs; like compare safety rating and such any bets on who has the most compliance issues
I need to settle a debate on whos right

There was a list I was just looking at last week....dang if I could find it....
"The Good, the bad and the ugly."
Every one of the ugly list was on EOBR too. They had all the worst scores.landstar8891 Thanks this. -
You know the answer allready. The ''study'' would be a fudged up study to show E-LOGGERS are so called safer..This will further the Agenda of the Nazi's running FMCSA...They have alot of money at stake to push this Mandate Through. Not to mention Millions of dollars that people have paid Law Makers to push this through...
Try to follow the Money Trail..And we will all have the answers to WHY.. -
look around.............the nightmare is here

We all know why they run e logs there safety scores was horrible fmcsa caught them was going to fine them big dollars. And fmcsa said hey we will reduce your fine and not close your doors if you put e log in your trucks. Also now they can put zombie steering wheel holders in trucks now ugh me push black pedal thingy and go Kool. Now they can pay them rookies less and have fmcsa off there backs. Now lets level the field and make the smaller companies and o/o that didn't safety score problems have them too. But wait it ain't happening fast enough for them so let's throw csa at them and heck while at it carb too just too make the field more fair. Like said above its about the money and pushing the small operators out of business. By being tired of all the b.s. they quit or making it too cost prohibitive with unreliable junk that they call new trucks. The day I am forced too have e logs is the day I have new lawn ornaments! Had to use them for two months once so don't blow any smoke up my backside about them. That's when I got my own authority.

Now come on and use some common sense here, IF the FMCSA did indeed put a bunch of companies that had bad logging scores on E-logs, wouldn't that mean that the companies on the "list" using E-logs WOULD have a worse score overall, because of the companies that FMCSA put ON E-LOGS?
Some of you guys need to start thinking for yourselves!
I can only speak for my company, but we have NEVER been in trouble with the FMSCA, NOBODY told me that I had to put E-LOGS in my trucks, it was strictly a company decision, our safety record has NEVER been "bad", NOBODY said they would lower my scores, Most of my drivers have been here for a number of years, so I have no "zombie's or rookies, and my oldest truck is a 2010, if that is junk in your book, then most of the 0/0's are here ALSO have junk, as MOST are older than mine.
GET your facts straight for once will ya!Click to expand...
So i could see why ''owners'' want these e-logs...Follow the money trail and boom, you got your answer...IMO it is all about screwing the drivers and big CEO's want cheaper labor and more profit.Click to expand... -

OK, here's a fact for you, I CAN PROVE that my drivers average take home on E-logs is the same or HIGHER than it was before E-logs, again, I can NOT speak for other companies, but for us it was/is a win, win.
Care to make a small wager, on my drivers average income before and after?
As far as lowering our cost to monitor logs, TRUE, it also gives me idling percentages, now ask yourself as an O/O, IF you can use technology to LOWER your cost of operating, while NOT "hurting" your drivers, where is the issue?
I would call this simply good business, wouldn't you?

NEWS FLASH....
That technology is already AVAILABLE in the ECM of the truck any time you want to haul your happy butt out to it and download it. An EOBR is just another form of an interface into it. Do you HAVE to have it real time? or is it sufficient to do it whenever the truck comes to the terminal? One is a cost PER TRUCK, the other is a one time purchase that covers the fleet.
EOBR is about Control and management. Not about safety.Last edited: Jul 14, 2013
