No company will pay you while your in class but most companies get you in and out of class within a week or two then once your one the road you will be paid anywhere from 350-600 depending on company and expirence

If you go into the trucking industry broke and desperate you will more than likely leave it more broke and more desperate. Do your research "devil dog", don't get suckered into the company sponsored training. Yes you can apply for a government grant or VA funding and you may well get it but......you are still entering the industry broke and desperate.

There may be more, but I'm only aware of 4 that might work for you:
Prime, Inc.
Swift
JBS Carriers
Central Refrigerated -
prime has a great apprenticeship program. give them a call at 417-866-0001. i have been with them for 4+ years and iove it there...
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Oh and if I were you I would steer clear from MTC in missouri easy school but the so-called "Dorm-Rooms" they have/had were horrible it was like living in a garage the whole time I was there and the food was like county jail.....but on the weekends if you don't have class and are comfortable with all your school and driving stuff there is a BAR like 100 feet from the school
Edit...One good the instructors were good and were willing to work during and after class with people who had problems and fairly knowledgeable -

IMO stay the #### away from Prime. Check out Millis Transfer

If your family depends on your paycheck you'd better stay where you are . Trucking is a huge risk for newbies with a high percentage of failure.

Has anyone attended Johnston Community College CDL training in NC? How was the training and is there any housing near by?
