I didn't know prescriptions expired. If you only took 1/2 a pill I doubt it will even show up in a test.

Is it a urine or hair test? Or both?

Ambien in large ( more than daily use )amounts can cause a false positive for benzo ( coke, valium, xanax) class drugs which are screened for. However ambien itself will not show up on a standard urine test used in D.O.T. testing and the metabolites are flushed from your system in 6-48 hrs just like other benzos. 99.9% it wont show up, still take your script even if it has expired to show you where prescribed them.

Probably won't even show up by then anyway! At most major drug store chains, you can buy a drug test kit that tests for everything tested on the DOT screen. Just google DOT drug test to find out what drugs they screen for and you will find you have nothing to worry about. I was taking vicadin about a week prior and passed. Unless you are a heavy or chronic drug user, most drugs will be gone withing a week. Weed stays a little longer! Hair test, everything stays a lot longer. Just google and go to the Government sites, you will get all the factual information you need!

it also depends on the company you are going to. My company (Prime) would send you home for 30 days and have you bring a note back from a doctor saying that you don't need the medication while you are driving. Not sure if Ambien would be one of the meds they do that with though.

Hey-I haven't read through all this.My idea for a quick fix-get a refill. That way it's current.Take one out, take the one you cut in half and put it in the bottle. If they want to count pills it comes out right.Presto-just what you need.Take care.Brian
