Well yall, not to be a buzzkill but I talked with a few of the Swift drivers today on the Walmart account locally. I hate to say this but I was not impressed, I was told that to make things fair to everyone there, they average about 1500 miles a week. Figuring in my fuel to travel there I am staring down an immediate $100 loss each week. Can't afford to make less, but if anyone lives in the Troy/Pike Co. area go for it!

My last six weeks are as follows
    Miles / stop pay
    2519 / $330
    1716 / $300
    1175 / $135 spent 3 days at home
    1643 / $180 spent 1 day at home
    1946 / $210
    2368 / $345
As a driver with less then six months experience I am happy with what I am making those four days at home were home shut down. I also get to spend the night at home 2-3 times a week.

I remember when I was on Moberly. I was doing good until I came off home time and a certain planner came back from either vacation or a trip and everything went to heck very fast and we had it out. Until this person came back, I was running all the long ones and taking a 34 every weekend. Did Harrisonville once, and left them within two days. Freight got slow and they told 3 of us O/O that their company trucks come first. We all left that same day.

I was told by another driver when I started running with them in May that if you sit for two days its time to get out. I sat yesterday and there is only about an hour left today before all the loads are gone. I didn't even need a reset. So I can understand sitting one day but no reason to sit two days in row. I have heard they play favorites even with the surge drivers so I guess Im not on the list. So if the loads all go Ill have to go in tomorrow and ask to go back OTR. The money is good but only when they run you.

Ya usually if u dont have a load by 4pm they are done the latest can be 5 if the DC sends them over late.

Ya I seem t o be a favorite but I have never sat more than a day, make sure if u sit a day get detention Moberly wont do it but DM will mine does anyways.

In my case they sent me a message asking me to work with them for a while (I was inbound with an OTR load to the DC). The other thing you can do is walk into the Swift office at the DC (when you MT out your OTR load) and ask them if they need a surge driver. Do this BEFORE you send your MT call.
