The other thing to learn is that when you are dealing with someone as apart of your job, do not take an issue with them if they touch your cab in an effort to talk to you.

I got to tell you, climb on my truck and I don't want you there, you are coming off. Either by your choice or not. If I have to make you get off you might not come off in one piece

How isn't it? I definitely respect truck drivers and the idea you don't want someone on your stuff if they're NOT supposed to (bums, criminals), but I find it bad that someone would tell a law enforcement official to "step off" when the officer is simply trying to see eye-to-eye with you (it's especially bad if it ends up being the most PITA trooper you'll meet). I gave my experience as a reason why you shouldn't get wound up over a foot step (don't be aggressive either). Professionalism and image is still important, that's why the people your delivering to and cops should be allowed on your step.

I got pulled over for a random inspection. I rolled down the window and let the guy climb up. He was holding onto the door where the bottom of the window would ussually be. He was asking me a couple questions while I went into the dash to get all the paperwork, when I hear god #### it son of a #####. I have straight pipes with no grab handles or heat shields and he leaned on it and burnt the piss out of his arm from his eldow to shoulder. He must have been embarrased cuz he let me off with a warning for all the problems he found.

Ya guess I was just lucky he didn't get pissed and nail me. He didn't even have the lack of mufflers on the warnings. Haha

In 1985 I saw a guy at a stop light try and hitch a ride on a loaded flat that was in front on me. It was at night, and the driver probably did not know, as he was turning right, and the guy was trying to get on the right side.

Anyways, the truck only went about 30-50 yards before the guy fell underneath the trailer duals. I tried to get ahold of the driver on the CB before, as I could see that the guy had no way of getting ahold of anything up on the trailer, and kept swinging under. The trailer was loaded with castings, on the front, and the rear, but nothing in the middle.

I ran up there to keep any cars from running over him, even though it was too late, and stayed and gave the policed a report.

I often wondered what the driver thought when he discovered the guys bag on his trailer......

It was a bad sight, so be careful when you make light of running someone over. Killing someone may stick with you for ever. It was someone's son, brother or maybe even a dad. He was the same age as me at the time.. 34.

It is not something I want to see again......

I was at McDonalds on Harrisburg PA yesterday eating, and reading. All of a sudden this dude pulls out the chair across from me, puts his food down, and starts eating, and talking about the company I work for. I've never seen this dude in my life. Before he could finish his second sentence, I told him that I didn't know him and didn't wanna talk, that I enjoy reading in peace while I eat. I wasn't trying to be rude, but at least approach with some respect and ask if you can sit down. People assume too many things these days. Of course he got offended, and left stomping his feet.

I value my space and property. In a stern manner, I tell anyone who interferes with either to back off. I have little patience for the bums in truck stops that make a living being lazy, especially after 650 miles of dealing with 4-wheelers.

This guy has the best way to dealing with these crazy folks.

Speaking of nasty sights... I was passing through Columbia SC a few nights ago at about 7pm. I was a few miles from 77 turning into 26, and in the opposite lane saw a red SUV spin, and start flipping. On the first flip I saw the bumper go flying, the second saw what I thought was the front bumper go flying, and after a few more flips land in the emergency lane. I got my truck stopped in the center median to do what I could when I realized that the bumper wasn't a bumper, but a dude that was ejected on the second flip. I'm assuming he didn't have his seat belt on. Other than getting the big car parts out of the road, there wasn't much that could be done.
